Made in my first year, this was my first project in my degree. The brief was to make a publication, about and in the style of, an influential designer. I was allocated the great designer, Josef Muller-Brockmann, a pioneer of Swiss graphic design, whose use of grids and typography greatly influenced modern visual communication. This project is significant to me, teaching me the fundamental principles of layout, structure, and visual hierarchy. It introduced me to the world of design and great designers, both past and present.
This project was made in my minor class Creative Entrepreneurship. Dinosaur Polo Club is an independent game studio based in New Zealand, known for its games Mini Metro and Mini Motorways. The project involved researching the studio’s history, its approach to game design, and how it operates as a business, including its funding, marketing strategies, and distribution methods.
ASAP type specimen was made in my second year. The brief was to layout and design a type specimen showcasing the characteristics and versatility of an allocated typeface, I was given the typeface ASAP, a modern sans-serif typeface known for its clean, geometric structure and excellent readability. It was valuable for me in deepening my learning of typeface and type as a fundamental element of design.
