'Where are you REALLY from' was made in my third year. The brief of this project was to develop and design a transmedia campaign for social impact. The media used were Posters, Social media videos and Zines. Highlight stereotypes, 'Where are you REALLY from' aims to shed light on causal racism towards local-born Chinese in New Zealand.

Casual racism is a massive issue in New Zealand that no one talks about and gets swept under the carpet. If you look different, you have probably come across the question "Where are you REALLY from?". For me personally, I have come across this multiple times, maybe out of curiosity, but it is quite insulting. I was born and raised in New Zealand, and I have a thick Kiwi accent, yet people still question me.

So this project aims to shed light on this issue and tries to spread the message "We are just like you but different". Different in who we look, our home life, our beliefs, but we're still Kiwi, we still grew up just like you.
